A one-year scholarship providing activity- based training and mentoring by experts, networking and community development opportunities.
Cash awards and international training for outstanding participants who prove themselves at the end of the program.
This is a part time program (online and physical) which you can balance with your work, studies and other activities.
Candidates will receive transport allowances, accommodation and facilities for physical workshops.
Criteria for eligibility:
18- 30 years of age
A practicing journalist – full time or part time journalist contributing to print, electronic
or digital media, young journalists who run their own digital media platforms,
Journalism and media students who contribute to mainstream media, young women and differently abled youth who engage in journalism
Engaging in Journalism in Sinhala, Tamil or English languages
Sound Knowledge of English is essential.
Willing to commit approximately 6 hours per month for online training and networking and 3-4 weekends over the period of one year for physical workshops and activities in 2024
Residing in North, South, East, West or Central provinces in Sri Lanka
Passionate to make a change through journalism for a better Sri Lanka
